China’s crude steel production increased by 4pc to 80.3mn mt in November from the prior year as steelmakers were exempt from pollution-related output cuts and improvement in steel margins. However, crude steel production dropped by 1.5pc in November from 81.53mn mt in October.
Between January and November, China’s crude steel production rose 7pc to 904mn mt compared to the same 11-month span in 2018, according to China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
