China’s Ansteel Iron and Steel plant has initiated an overhaul of its No. 2 blast furnace according to its annual maintenance plan and amidst preventative measures against Covid-19 pandemic. The plant and blast furnace will start in early March.

 

Ansteel’s No.2 furnace is a large-scale blast furnaces with an effective volume of 3,200 cubic meters. Electrical systems of blast furnaces will be upgraded to improve utilization.

 

During the maintenance period, its rolled steel plant’s 2150 production lines will be renovated simultaneously. Ansteel No.4 plant, cold rolling mill lines 1 and 3 will perform key equipment overhaul to enhance the system’s capacity. Repairing of production lines will expand the company’s high strength steel varieties, and its automotive steel profile.

 

Ansteel group has an overall production capacity of 39mn mt of raw steel. The company has a global sales network with 26 overseas facilities.
