Chinese auto manufacturer Chongqing Changan Automobile Co Ltd’s (Changan Auto) vehicle sales in November rose by 24.5pc to 219,526 units as compared to 176,349 units in the preceding year, rising for the eighth consecutive month, according to media reports citing the company’s official data.

 

In the first eleven months of the year (Jan-Nov, 2020), the company’s vehicle sales stood at 1.8mn units, up by 15.27pc from 1.5mn units in the prior-year period.

 

The company has entered an agreement with Chinese electric vehicle (EV) battery maker Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL) and Huawei to launch a new EV brand that will go into mass production soon.

 

The brand will encompass a controllable intelligent EV platform, a series of smart car-related products, and a smart lifestyle and energy ecosystem.

 

It also agreement aims to boost and promote the development of the Chinese EV industry.

 

Apart from that, Changan has also unveiled its plan to launch a new vehicle manufacturing platform called Ark Architecture to help build cars with high-level self-driving capabilities.
