Canadian wholesales increased by 0.3pc to C$65.7bn $50bn) in August from July of this year, according to a Statistics Canada (StatCan) report.
The subsector of motor vehicles and motor vehicle parts and accessories rose by 2.5pc to C$10.9bn in August, but could not return to pre-pandemic levels seen in February because of the nature of the business, which was affected by nationwide lockdowns this spring.
From an inventory standpoint, the machinery, equipment and supplies subsector saw the largest increase in inventory levels at 0.9pc to C$26.4bn, StatCan reported.
