Canada’s building permit rose by 17pc to C$9.4bn ($7.05bn) in September, according to Statistics Canada (StatCan) reports.
Total value of residential permits rose by 6.9pc to C$6bn, under which, the value of a single family unit was up by 8.9pc to C$2.8bn while valuation of multi-family units increased by 5.2pc to C$3.3bn.
Value of permits in the non-residential sector grew by 40.6pc to C$3.4bn in September on an annual basis. In this segment, commercial permits increased by 42.3pc to C$1.8bn while the industrial building permits were up by 49.1pc to C$713mn. The country’s institutional permits grew by 30.2pc to C$799mn, StatCan reported.
