The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) made a preliminary anti-dumping industry damage ruling on certain hot-rolled carbon steel plate and high-strength low-alloy steel plate imported from Taiwan, Germany, South Korea, Malaysia and Turkey.
The specifications of the product involved cut lengths, in widths greater than 72 inches (+/- 1,829 mm) to 152 inches (+/- 3,860 mm) inclusive, and thicknesses from 0.375 inches (+/- 9.525 mm) up to and including 4.5 inches (+/- 114.3 mm) that has caused injury to the Canadian domestic industry as it does not meet the industry standards for an alloy-grade steel plate.
On May 27, the anti-dumping probe was initiated following a notification issued by Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) for the above-mentioned products.
