Braidy Industries will now operate under the brand name Unity Aluminum, the company announced on Oct 15.
The company’s plans to set up an aluminum rolling mill in Kentucky ran into financing challenges earlier this year. However, it said earlier this month that construction was back on track and that it had completed the final round of fundraising.
The new Kentucky plant will produce 330,000mt of primary aluminum for the automotive, transportation, and distribution markets. Stressing the need for more such plants, Don Foster, president and chief executive officer of Unity Aluminum, said that to meet America’s domestic aluminum demand alone, the country would need four such mills.
