Boeing decided to stop production of its 787 model after discovering new manufacturing flaws and will only deliver about 50 Dreamliners to its customers this year, the company reported.

The American manufacturer has almost 100 orders for the 787 Dreamliner due in 2021 and planned to deliver most of them; however, with the new failures found, it expects to deliver less than half. Still, the company explained, the delivery of aircraft already manufactured is being halted, while each one undergoes a new inspection to solve the fault detected in the fuselage structure.

The flaw was discovered as part of new inspection processes ordered by the Federal Aviation Administration, following the two accidents suffered by Boeing 737 Max models last year.
