China’s steelmaker Baowu plans to set up a pure-hydrogen facility in the country by 2022 with technology from North America’s Honeywell International.
Honeywell, through its subsidiary Honeywell UOP, will build the 6000CMH (cubic meter per hour) pure hydrogen station to enable Baowu to achieve its net-zero carbon goals for steel production by 2050. The project is already underway, according to media reports on Jul 5.
Honeywell is a specialist technology and automotive solutions provider serving aerospace, construction, manufacturing, and other sectors. It has been a strategic partner of Shanghai Baohydorgen, a subsidiary of Baowu’s clean energy platform.
