Commercial vehicle manufacturer, Ashok Leyland, will curtail production at its units and operate its plants for 7-15 days in May due to deteriorating demand because of resurgence of COVID-19 in India.

The Chennai-based company announced this in a statement on Monday.

The company, owned by the Hinduja Group, also mentioned that it would continue to handle the defence vehicle requirement and also provide support of necessary parts and aggregates for its fleet with a 24-hour helpline.
