Chennai-based auto manufacturer Ashok Leyland notes an overall demand improvement for automobiles in July. Compared to the prior months of May and June, the company plans to operate for more days in July to ramp up production.
The company has announced its manufacturing units will be operational for up to 25 days in July.
Ashok Leyland was among several manufacturers who had halted production due to a shortage of semiconductors and a surge in the number of COVID-19 cases in the country.
In June, the company was operational for only 10 days due to low demand and strict lockdown measures in several states.
