PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih (AMKR) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of its $250mn new pelletizing plant, which is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2023, according to media reports.
The new plant will produce 5mn mt of pellets annually and is expected to reduce total CO2 emissions by 800,000mt per year. The commencement of the plant will be important in transforming Ukraine’s metallurgy into ‘green metallurgy’.
In August, the company signed an agreement with SinoSteel for developing and supplying equipment for the construction of the plant.
