In January-September, Indonesian miner PT Aneka Tambang Tbk’s (Antam) nickel ore production stood at 2.86mn wmt. During Q3 2020, nickel ore volumes doubled to 1.49mn wmt, compared with 745,000wmt in the prior quarter.
The company’s ferronickel production in January-September tallied at 19,133mt, compared with 19,052mt in the prior year period. Ferronickel sales were almost flat at 19,507mt over 19,703mt in the same period under comparison.
Antam’s net sales (including nickel and gold) in the first nine months amounted to Rp18.04tn ($1.2bn). In Q3 2020, the firm’s net sales rose by 119pc to Rp8.81tn, against Rp4.02tn in the preceding quarter.
In the third quarter, the miner’s operating income from nickel rose 1.6 times to Rp692.70bn from Rp263.06bn in Q2.
