Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

Altiplano Metals has relocated its copper mill and processing plant, that it recently acquired for its Farellon Copper Mine, to its own mill site in La Serena, Chile.

The site is 15km from the Farellon mine, where Altiplano has also acquired additional land in order to expand the mill’s production capacity, it said in a statement. The firm has sent in request for the required permits and expects to start construction in a few weeks. The total land is close to 9 hectares and has access to power, water and other necessities required for construction.

The relocated equipment has a processing capacity of 5,000mt per month. This expansion will allow the firm to pursue regional toll milling opportunities in the area as, the company’s release indicated.
