Romanian aluminum producer Alro reported a decline in sales of its primary and processed aluminum products in 2020 compared with 2019. 

 

The company, in its 2020 earnings report, said that primary aluminum production declined by 3pc while processed aluminum output fell by 6pc in the past year. Sales value decreased by 7pc and 8pc for the two categories, respectively. 

 

Alro did not disclose actual volumes but noted that of its annual combined capacity is 265,000mt of primary aluminum, 335,000mt consisted of cast and 35,000mt was recycled aluminum.

 

Alro’s revenue in 2020 fell by 9pc to RON2.5bn ($621mn) but it posted a profit of RON328mn, compared to a loss of RON67mn in 2019. The company attributed the rise in profits to the improved performance of wire rod and extruded product sales.
