North American fine chemicals manufacturer Albemarle has raised its 2021 net sales guidance to $3.3-3.4bn from $3.2-3.3bn owing to increased sales of lithium.

The company expects its operational performance to continue to improve this year as long as global economies are on the mend.
Net sales
Albemarle’s net sales increased by 1.3pc in Q2 2021 to $774mn from $764mn during the prior-year quarter. Lithium sales stood at $320mn a 13pc increase from $283.7mn during the same timeframe under review.
The company’s Q2 2021 net income was $424.6mn and adjusted EBITDA stood at $194.6mn.
