Peruvian Metals’ Águila Norte plant processed 437pc more lead and zinc ore during the first six months of this year at 11,890mt, compared to 2,212mt in the same period of 2020.
In Q2 2021, the plant processed 5,956mt of ore, while the pandemic-induced closure completely halted production in the same period last year. Although, in 2019 production reached 7,509mt from April to June.
Peruvian Metals expects better performance at Águila Norte in the second half of the year, as the plant has the necessary environmental permits to exceed the 100mt/day of zinc and lead ores that it currently processes.
